10. Meus caros
condiscípulos, os Espíritos aqui presentes vos dizem, por meu intermédio: “Amai
muito, afim de serdes amados.” É tão justo esse pensamento, que nele
encontrareis tudo o que consola e abranda as penas de cada dia; ou melhor:
pondo em prática esse sábio conselho,elevar-vos-eis de tal modo acima da
matéria que vos espiritualizareis antes de deixardes o invólucro terrestre.
Havendo os estudos espíritas desenvolvido em vós a compreensão do futuro, uma
certeza tendes: a de caminhardes para Deus, vendo realizadas todas as promessas
que correspondem às aspirações de vossa alma. Por isso, deveis elevar-vos bem
alto para julgardes sem as constrições da matéria, e não condenardes o vosso
próximo sem terdes dirigido a Deus o pensamento.
Amar, no sentido
profundo do termo, é o homem ser leal, probo, consciencioso, para fazer aos
outros o que queira que estes lhe façam; é procurar em torno de si o sentido
íntimo de todas as dores que acabrunham seus irmãos, para suavizá-las; é
considerar como sua a grande família humana, porque essa família todos a
encontrareis, dentro de certo período, em mundos mais adiantados; e os
Espíritos que a compõem são, como vós, filhos de Deus, destinados a se elevarem
ao infinito. Assim, não podeis recusar aos vossos irmãos o que Deus
liberalmente vos outorgou, porquanto, de vosso lado, muito vos alegraria que
vossos irmãos vos dessem aquilo de que necessitais. Para todos os sofrimentos,
tende, pois, sempre uma palavra de esperança e de conforto, a fim de que sejais
inteiramente amor e justiça.
Crede que esta
sábia exortação: “Amai bastante, para serdes amados”, abrirá caminho;
revolucionária, ela segue sua rota, que é determinada, invariável. Mas, já
ganhastes muito, vós que me ouvis, pois que já sois infinitamente melhores do
que éreis há cem anos. Mudastes tanto, em proveito vosso, que aceitais de boa
mente, sobre a liberdade e a fraternidade, uma imensidade de idéias novas, que
outrora rejeitaríeis. Ora, daqui a cem anos, sem dúvida aceitareis com a mesma
facilidade as que ainda vos não puderam entrar no cérebro.
Hoje, quando o
movimento espírita há dado tão grande passo, vede com que rapidez as idéias de
justiça e de renovação, constantes nos ditados espíritas, são aceitas pela
parte mediana do mundo inteligente. É que essas idéias correspondem a tudo o
que há de divino em vós. É que estais preparados por uma sementeira fecunda: a
do século passado, que implantou no seio da sociedade terrena as grandes idéias
de progresso. E, como tudo se encadeia sob a direção do Altíssimo, todas as
lições recebidas e aceitas virão a encerrar-se na permuta universal do amor ao
próximo. Por aí, os Espíritos encarnados, melhor apreciando e sentindo, se
estenderão as mãos, de todos os confins do vosso planeta. Uns e outros reunir-se-ão,
para se entenderem e amarem, para destruírem todas as injustiças, todas as
causas de desinteligências entre os povos.

de renovação pelo Espiritismo, tão bem exposto em O Livro dos Espíritos; tu
produzirás o portentoso milagre do século vindouro, o da harmonização de todos
os interesses materiais e espirituais dos homens, pela aplicação deste preceito

10. Esteemed fellow students, the Spirits who are here
present say to you through my intermediary: "Love with all your hearts so
that in turn you too may be loved." This thought is so completely just
that we find within it everything which can console and alleviate the trials of
each day, or better still, by putting this wisdom into practise you will so
elevate yourselves above all that is material, that you will become
spiritualised even before you leave this earthly body. As the study of
spiritual matters has developed your understanding of the future, of one thing
you can be sure, you are progressing in the direction of God and will see
fulfilled all the promises which correspond to the aspirations of your soul.
This is why it is necessary to elevate oneself, so we may be able to judge ourselves
without the constraint of matter, and why we must never condemn our neighbour
without first directing our thoughts to God.
To love, in the true sense of the word, is to be
loyal, honest and conscientious; to do to others what we would have them do to
us. It is to look around oneself and seach for the inner meaning behind all the
pain afflicting your fellow creatures, so as to be better able to offer some
relief. It is to consider the great human family as your own, because this
family will, at some future date, re-encounter itself in the other more
advanced worlds together with other Spirits who, like you, are also God's
children destined to infinite elevation. Thus you cannot deny to your fellow
men and women what God has liberally granted to you, seeing that, on your side,
you should be happy that they give you what you need. Therefore always have a
word of comfort and hope for all who suffer so that you may be wholly just and
loving.
Believe that the wise saying: "Love greatly so as to be greatly loved," will open up the way. These words are revolutionary and follow a pathway that is sure and invariable. But those of you who listen to them have already made some progress; you are much better than you were a hundred years ago. You have changed so much for your own good that you can willingly accept a host of new ideas on liberty and fraternity which before you would have rejected. Moreover, without doubt in another hundred years or so, you will accept just as easily those ideas which now you are unable to get into your heads.
Today, when the Spiritist movement has taken such a
big step forward, it is seen how quickly the ideas of justice and renovation,
which are a constant in Spiritist teachings, are largely accepted by the
intelligent world due to the fact that these ideas correspond to all that is
divine within each one. This has come about because you were prepared by a rich
and fertile sowing during the last century, when the seeds of great ideas
regarding progress were implanted in the bosom of earthly society. As
everything is linked together under the direction of God all lessons, when
received and accepted, will be the means of bringing about the universal
interchange of love for one's fellow beings. In this way all incarnate Spirits,
being better able to appreciate and judge things, will join hands with those
from every corner of this planet. One and all will come together to understand
and love each other, to destroy all injustices and all causes of misunderstandings
amongst peoples.
The great concept of renewal through Spiritism, so
well presented in The Spirits’ Book, will produce the prodigious miracles of
the forthcoming century, and lead to the harmonising of all the material and
spiritual interests of mankind. This will be brought about through fuller
understanding of the maxim: "Love greatly so as to be greatly loved."

kunlernantoj, la Spiritoj nun ĉeestantaj diras al vi per mia voĉo: "Multe
amu, por esti multe amataj." Tiu ĉi penso estas tiel prava, ke vi en ĝi
trovos ĉion, kio konsolas kaj mildigas la penojn de ĉiu tago; aŭ pli bone,
praktikante tiun saĝan konsilon, vi tiel altiĝos super la materio, ke vi vin
liberigos el la materio antaŭ via elkarniĝo. Disvolvante vian komprenon pri l'
estonteco, la spiritismaj studoj havigas al vi jenan certecon: ke vi marŝas al
Dio, vidante efektivigitaj ĉiujn promesojn, respondantajn al la aspiroj de via
animo; tial vi devas levi vin sufiĉe alte, por juĝi sen la baroj de la materio
kaj por ne kondamni vian proksimulon, ne direktinte vian penson al Dio.
Ami signifas, en
la profunda senco de la vorto, esti lojala, honesta, konscienca, por fari al la
aliaj tion, kion oni volus por si mem; estas serĉi ĉirkaŭ si la intiman sencon
de ĉiuj doloroj, kiuj subpremas viajn fratojn, por alporti al ili ian balzamon;
estas rigardi la grandan homan familion kiel la sian, ĉar tiun familion vi
retrovos post iom da tempo en mondoj pli progresintaj, kaj la Spiritoj, kiuj
konsistigas ĝin, estas, kiel vi, filoj de Dio, destinitaj por altiĝi al la
senlimo.
Tial vi ne povas
rifuzi al viaj fratoj tion, kion Dio malavare donas al vi, ĉar viaflanke vi tre
ĝojus, se viaj fratoj donus al vi tion, kion vi bezonas. Al ĉiuj suferoj eldiru
parolon de espero kaj de apogo, por ke vi estu tute amo, tute justeco.
Kredu, ke ĉi tiu
saĝa admono: "Multe amu por esti multe amataj" trabatos al si vojon;
ĝi estas revolucia kaj sekvas vojon fiksan, neŝanĝeblan. Sed vi jam gajnis, vi,
kiuj aŭskultas min; vi estas multege pli bonaj, ol vi estis antaŭ cent jaroj;
vi tiom pliboniĝis, ke vi jam akceptas sen kontraŭdiro amason da novaj ideoj
pri libereco kaj frateco, kiujn vi pasintatempe forpuŝus; nu, de nun post cent
jaroj, vi akceptos kun sama facileco la ideojn, kiuj ankoraŭ ne povis penetri
en vian cerbon.
Hodiaŭ, kiam la
spiritisma movado faris tian grandan paŝon, vidu kiel rapide la ideoj de
justeco kaj de renovigo, entenataj en la diktaĵoj de la Spiritoj, estas akceptataj
de duono de l' intelektularo; tio okazas, ĉar tiuj ideoj respondas al ĉio, kio
estas dia en vi; ĉar vi estas preparitaj per fekunda semado: la lastjarcenta semado,
kiu enplantis en la socion la grandajn ideojn de progreso; kaj ĉar ĉiuj aferoj
interĉeniĝas sub la sceptro de la Plejaltulo, iuj lecionoj, ricevitaj kaj akceptitaj,
estos enfermitaj en tiu universala interŝanĝo de amo al la proksimulo; per ĝi
la enkarniĝintaj Spiritoj, pli bone juĝante kaj sentante, etendos la manojn unuj
al aliaj ĝis la ekstremaĵoj de via planedo; ili kolektiĝos, por interkompreniĝi
kaj por ami unuj aliajn, por detrui ĉiajn maljustaĵojn, ĉiajn kaŭzojn de
miskompreno inter la popoloj.

faros la grandan miraklon de la venonta jarcento, la miraklon de la harmoniigo
